Singapore ranks as the top global destination for entrepreneurial wealth and relocation

Singapore has been ranked as the world’s top destination for entrepreneurial wealth and relocation, outpacing the United Kingdom and Switzerland, according to HSBC’s Global Entrepreneurial Wealth Report 2025.

The report revealed that 15% of global entrepreneurs chose Singapore as their primary destination for wealth, ahead of the UK and Switzerland (each at 11%). It also ranked first in personal relocation, with 12% of entrepreneurs naming it as their preferred place to live and work.

Much of the inflow originates from the region, with 47% of new entrepreneurial wealth coming from Indonesia and 38% from Malaysia, thereby strengthening Singapore’s position as Southeast Asia’s financial and business gateway.

Entrepreneurs based in Singapore are also highly settled. Only one in five is considering moving their wealth or residence abroad, making them the least likely globally to relocate. At the same time, 63% of Singapore-based entrepreneurs live across multiple markets, highlighting the country’s role as both a regional and global hub.

Globally, 59% of entrepreneurs are transferring wealth abroad, and 57% are contemplating relocation. However, those in the city-state are the least likely to shift their assets or residences. Despite global market volatility, optimism remains high: 94% of entrepreneurs expect their business prospects to improve, and 90% anticipate growth in personal wealth, with technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) cited as key drivers.
